Piedmont Hospital is The Best Place To Have A Baby Post author:Toicher Times Post published:January 8, 2019 Post category:Uncategorized It’s Tell the Truth Tuesday! In my opinion, Piedmont Hospital is the best place to deliver a baby in Atlanta, Georgia. I had a successful NVD. My child is healthy and in college now. I felt safe and so at peace. I love to tell people about my great experiences. My father had the best insurance. There were no billing issues or any other problems. I hope that you will receive top notch service if you ever visit for any reason.Piedmont hospital staff members did not force me to take pitocin or an unwilling c-section that drives up healthcare cost and your stay in the hospital. Everything was explained with no hidden agenda’s. My daughter was due on February 8, 1997 but she came one day early. I remember taking a warm bath that morning to ease the pain but all the rehearsed tactics did not work. My contractions were so strong that I called the on call number in the wee hours of the morning then was told to come in. Once I arrived at the office, they wasted no time. I was checked into a room to see if I had dilated. Since I had dilated a lot they asked me to check in at the hospital immediately. I wobbled over to the hospital to check in.Everything went smoothly and I was placed in a very nice room. I was given an epidural because I could not take the pain. This is a reminder of why I only had two full term pregnancies and deliveries. The process went really fast and I was given this button to press to administer pain medication if I felt any pain. I pressed that button so many times but later found out that it only releases pain medication on a set scheduled time. Too funny, now that I think about it.I was told not to eat anything but I was extremely hungry. This way, you will have no reason to poop when you push. I know this sounds revolting but it’s true. The nurse came in with a cup of ice chips for me to crunch on. I crunched on so much ice that I soon forgot about crunching once the contractions hit like the perfect storm. Finally, I dilated 10cm. The midwife had a mirror for me to see me having my baby. Porsche had a head full of hair and I felt so much pressure but no pain. The midwife did not pop my baby on her butt like in the movies, she cried on her own at 7lbs 11oz. Porsche had all of her fingers and toes and was as cute as a little girl can be.My umbilical cord was cut then my stomach was pressed really hard until the afterbirth came out then fell into a pan. Shortly afterwards, my umbilical cord was placed back into my stomach while I just laid on the delivery table to be cleaned up too.The nurse cleaned Porsche, then gave her to me. She had silky black hair and was very light skinned, juicy and so very pretty. I was so glad that it was over. I felt so relieved. I believe that I could deliver her with no problems and I did. THANK GOD!Finally, I was placed in a very nice clean room. The scent was so very fresh. Everything was neat, clean and or brand new. One of the staff members explained how to contact the nurse or doctor if I needed anything. There was a nice small closet for me to put my personal belongings and luggage. The restroom was very clean and everything worked properly. Nothing was broken or out of order that I could see.A lactation consultant taught me how to breastfeed but I did not want too. I was young and breastfeeding was not popular. Although my mother breastfed me, I still was not excited about it. She explained to me that my father’s insurance suggested that I at least try it first. The lactation consultant was very thorough. I was surprised to learn about colostrum and the wonderful benefits that gives Porsche an extra boost to stay healthy. My baby stayed in the room with me. The nurse asked me to give my baby girl’s diaper with her first poop to make sure it was okay. For some odd reason, it was black. Fortunately, that’s normal and all test were fine. The staff members were very attentive to my needs and supplied me and my baby with quality stuff. The food was great too. They even provided a special breakfast for the parents that I did not participate in. From start to finish, I was treated with the upmost respect and kindness.Overall, my experience at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia was the absolute best. The customer service was absolutely impeccable. I have nothing but great things to say about this hospital. I can only imagine that the staff has continued to be outstanding in the delivery ward and other areas. When I was a little girl, my mother had surgery at Piedmont Hospital and it was very successful. Unfortunately, she had fibroids the size of grapefruits and they had to be removed. The staff were very nice back then. My parents were very pleased. I believe this may be the biggest reason why I chose Piedmont Hospital.I can’t wait to hear and read about your wonderful experiences because it helps ordinary people like me and others with their choices. I believe in my heart that the people at Piedmont Hospital had my best interest at heart. Have you ever had a baby or surgery? How was your experience? How was the staff and the hospital in general?
