One day, something told me to wear my prayer shawl when I went to the mall play area with my child. While walking through the food court a black man noticed that I had my prayer shawl on then asked me a few questions. I introduced myself and my child shook his hand.
Our conversation was very interesting. He was very friendly even to my cute little boy who was busy and showed us his badge. Soon after he told me that he was the director of operations at Arbor Place Mall. He’s in law enforcement, a pastor, author of nine books and likes to draw.
I was so impressed with what he had told me that I asked him if I could write about him on my my faith based blog. He agreed and I was so extremely grateful. Finally, I spoke with him and his story is absolutely amazing and it has encouraged me to keep moving forward despite life’s challenges. Okay, lean in close and I hope that you enjoy what I’m about to tell you.
Pastor Tim Sykes is from Galveston Island, Texas but lived most of his life in Houston, Texas. He is the only boy and has two younger sisters now. Although this is his second marriage, he’s a devoted father with three wonderful children ages 17, 12 and one on the way.
With the help of God, Pastor Sykes has been with the gospel for 30 years but has been preaching for 24 years. He has been the pastor of a church or two along with a little drama that he overcame. He loves God and God’s people.
It’s very interesting that he is very passionate about painting and writing. While listening to him describe himself, he stated that he is very loving, kind and laid back. In addition, he don’t like violence or anything to do with breaking the law.
As we all know life happens and many are given some hard blows in life. Pastor Sykes performed the eulogy for four of his family members less than a year apart from each other. First it was his sister who died, then his dad, mother and uncle. Those were very trying time for him then God inspired him to write a book titled Dealing with My Feelings.
As of today, Pastor Sykes is currently working on another book. Also, he host a wonderful godly event for adults. He was very transparent and talked about spiritual rehab and the process that it has taken to where he is now. I encourage you to purchase his book when it comes out. You can find him on social media and his books are online.
Have a Bodacious and Miraculous Day!
