I received the gift of the Holy Spirit in my mid-twenties. I had recently moved from Georgia with my daughter. I went to visit Rock Church in Virginia Beach, Va. God really used this visiting pastor effectively, I wrote him out a check too. I can’t remember the pastor’s name. He asked everyone to pray and speak in tongues for those who knew how. I bowed my head then I began to speak in tongues. After several minutes and nothing happening I kept on praying in my heavenly tongues.
Suddenly, something was activated within me, my voice turned up and I could not stop speaking in tongues. It was like I did not have control over my speaking, I was just flowing in the Spirit. My daughter was next to me saying, Mommy what’s wrong, what are you saying. I just allowed the Holy Spirit to have His way. I felt totally at peace and was extremely grateful for the gift of the Holy Spirit that has never left me.
My prayer life even went to a another level. I have so many absolutely wonderful experiences while walking with God. My plan is to keep on sharing so that you are encouraged because God is real and have shown himself strong in my life. I know without a doubt that He will do the same for you too. I urge you to spend more quiet time with the Lord and allow him to fill you up. I’ll be praying for you as God leads me. Also, get a journal and have a pen ready to write.
