Cascade House Shelter Review

It’s Face the Facts Friday!

The Cascade House Shelter was an old fire station on the corner of Cascade and Ralph David Abernathy here in Atlanta. The people who operated this facility was very nice to me. They followed proper policies and procedures and I received help.

Intake was easy and the shelter was clean. Everyone who lived there short term had chores, including me. I even had to cook for everyone when I was designated to and my food was delicious. We all took turns.

The rooms and beds were nice and comfortable. I even received donations of clothing that were nice and suitable to wear.

Shortly after saying there for a while, I received information to meet with this nice lady that provided me with subsidized housing. I was one of the first to move into Cascade Oaks Apartments. This was my first apartment and I stayed there for quiet some time.

Unfortunately, the Cascade House Shelter is closed. Out of six shelters in Georgia, this is the only one that help me with housing, stability and other stuff.

When I became stable, I donated clothes to the Cascade House Shelter. I want to end by saying thank you to the staff that helped me overcome homelessness and whomever funded this program.
